I was online looking for AA meetings in my area and I found a hotline number. I got the answering machine and even with that, the message left me speechless. The message started out nice saying to leave a message and then at the end the girl started saying things like “If no one has told you they love you today, I love you.” I don’t even remember what else the message said but I remember thinking this is too much happiness. Almost sounded like a robot that was programmed to be happy. The actual girl ended up calling me 10 minutes later to give me information. She started giving me directions and none of it made sense. She told me to head east and get in my left lane to make a right. When I asked her to repeat it, she starts saying to head west. In my head I was thinking this girl has to be on something right now. Then she starts talking about her sobriety and that it’s been 2 years, I was on the phone with her for about an hour. I didn’t know how to tell her all I wanted was a location and time.

So I tried looking for this church on Tuesday but the directions she gave me had me lost that I didn’t make it. I went back home and researched and found another meeting for Wednesday night. When I got there it was pretty packed. I noticed it had a range a people: men, women, white, black, young, and old. The majority of them were white males around 25 years old. At the beginning and end of the meeting, different people read certain literatures, which to me reminded me of being in church. That’s another thing, everyone was thanking God and talking about Him, and I was thinking, what if some people don’t believe in that. Would it offend them?

This certain meeting had a speaker. His story was very interesting and he kept saying how the AA group really got him to where he is today. Something I found funny was that when someone spoke actually said “I’m John, and I’m an addict.” Everyone responds “Hi John.” I just found it fascinating to actually see and hear it in person.

I was so happy to get outta there!! The whole experience was just freaking me out.

Anyways, my purse was extremely heavy and I decided to check out what I had inside. Well here it is:

* perfume, makeup, handcream, flipflops, pencil case, wallet, gum/chocolate, lighter, hand wipes, deodorant, hand sanitizer, receipts, a PS3 game, bandaids, mini mouse, 2 watches, paycheck, shoelaces, hair flower. Things I left out of the picture are cell phone and charger, keys, and the camera I’m using to take the picture. *

The only games I’ve been to are the ones here with the Marlins and I’ve really never cared cause the Marlins suck. But, at one game I was looking to see who #19 was (because 19 is my favorite number) and it turned out to be Mike Lowe. I was happy to know that an attractive guy was wearing my number. Since then, Lowe became my favorite. After the Marlins won the World Series in 2003, I was super excited to have found out that Lowe was going to play for the Red Sox!! yay!! but sad that he became #25 =( . Anyways, now as I’m keeping up with the game, I found out that this season will be his last because he wants to retire =( .

Anyways, I was listening to Elvis Duran this morning and Carolina mentioned Victoria’s Secret new Pink line for the Big Leagues. They have a line for girls to show off their favorite team!! Finally!! All these sports store sell jerseys for guys and they are too big for me. I had to buy a jersey in childrens size. But this Pink is so awesome, Ima get some. I love it!!

Now, all I need are tickets to Fenway to watch the Red Sox kick the Yankees ass!!! Then my life will be complete!

In North Carolina, Cynthia Shackelford sued her husband’s mistress, Anne Lundquist, under the “Alien of Affections” law stating that the woman deliberately seduced her husband and destroyed her marriage. A jury has demanded that Ms. Shackelford’s husband’s paramour, Anne Lundquist, pay Ms. Shackelford $5 million in compensatory damages and $4 million in punitive damages.

According to the wikipedia:

Alienation of affections first appeared in New York as a tort law in 1864. It was set up to protect a man’s property (wives were apparently considered property back then). So, if another man came and stole the husband’s wife, the husband could sue that man. Since 1935, this law has been abolished in 42 states. Alienation is still recognized in Hawaii, Illinois, North Carolina, Mississippi, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Utah.

An action for alienation of affection does not require proof of extramarital sex. An alienation claim is difficult to establish because it comprises several elements and there are several defenses. To succeed on an alienation claim, the plaintiff has to show that (1) the marriage entailed love between the spouses in some degree; (2) the spousal love was alienated and destroyed; and (3) defendant’s malicious conduct contributed to or caused the loss of affection. It is not necessary to show that the defendant set out to destroy the marital relationship, but only that he or she intentionally engaged in acts which would foreseeably impact on the marriage.

That’s just craziness. As if the husband didn’t do anything.

I was listening to Elvis Duran one morning and they were talking about being in a fakelationship. A fakelationship is a relationship where two people cannot be without each other. They talk to each other about everything and may talk several times a day. But a fakelationship is strictly platonic. As soon as sex is involved, it becomes a REALationship. A fakelationship can be with the same sex. So basically to summarize, its when the 2 of you treat each other as if you were in a dating relationship (calling to say how your day was, planning vacations, asking for advice, etc) but there is no sex involved. Let’s use it in a sentence:

Beth and Michelle are in a fakelationship. They talk and text each other all day and then meet up for dinner to talk some more. What about?? I have no idea.

Aww. It seems that all of the penguins have accepted him. Usually, animals have been known to attack members of their groups that are “too different”. He’s like a little Happy Feet. It’s so cute!!!

Phobia is a persistent, abnormal, and irrational fear of a specific thing or situation that compels one to avoid it, despite the awareness and reassurance that it is not dangerous.

So, a discussion came up about fear being learned. Me, being a behaviorist, I do believe fear is learned. Michael stated that phobias can occur without being exposed to anything, to just have a fear of something without reinforcement or punishment.

Some research needs to be done on my part. Im not an expert in phobias, but I just really dont see how someone can be afraid of something they havent experienced and learned to be afraid of it.
